Once upon a time in a bustling NH suburb, there lived a woman named Sarah Villavicencio. At 35, she wore many hats – a loving wife, a devoted mother to a spirited 2-year-old girl, and a bonus mom to her 7-year-old stepson. On top of that, she proudly embraced the title of a dog mom to Carlos, the most handsome of boxers.
Sarah's professional life had been etched in the corporate tech marketing space for over a decade, but hidden beneath the surface was a passion that burned brighter with each passing day – a passion for health and wellness.
Her journey through the realm of health and wellness was a tapestry woven with threads of struggle, triumph, and self-discovery. As a child, Sarah battled with weight, caught in the clutches of an environment that lacked the tools to foster a healthy and nutritious lifestyle. But, her story took a turn in her early teens.
In a quest to transform her life, Sarah embarked on a weight loss journey, shedding 50 pounds in just 1-2 years. However, the path she chose was extreme – excessive cardio and undereating, sometimes reducing her meals to just one a day or none at all.
For the next decade, she clung to this delicate balance, aided by an eating disorder and a relentless focus on running. It wasn't until her mid-twenties that a pivotal moment arrived – the day she enlisted the help of a coach who revolutionized her mindset about diet and exercise.
Under her coach's guidance, Sarah redirected her focus to weightlifting, breaking free from the chains of her eating disorder, something she has been able to stay free from for the past 10 years. Though she delved into competitive weightlifting, she soon realized that the extreme wasn't her calling.
With a more balanced approach to fitness and nutrition, Sarah maintained a healthy weight and a positive relationship with food. As she traversed the path of wellness over the next several years, she dedicated time to other aspects of her life – relationships, self-esteem, confidence, and her career.
In 2019/2020, stress and illness led to imbalances in her gut health, prompting a year-long journey to restore equilibrium. This journey opened the door to her passion for holistic health and the importance of wellness in all areas of life.
The challenges continued as she embraced motherhood, grappling with old insecurities during postpartum life and learning to accept and love her body as she worked off the baby weight.
Undeterred by the hurdles, Sarah channeled her nutrition and workout skills to prepare for her wedding, coaching herself through the process. And now, post-nuptials,, she aims to find balance once again, armed with the wisdom accumulated over the years.
Her mission is clear – to share the lessons learned along her tumultuous yet transformative journey. For Sarah, health and wellness are not fleeting endeavors but a lifelong commitment to learning, evolving, and growing. It isn't just about physical well-being; it encompasses one's environment, emotions, mental health, relationships, and financial stability – a holistic approach that interconnects every facet of life. Thus, A Healthy Villa was born in 2024. Sarah seeks to help other busy working moms who struggle with their health journey. We're so excited you're here!
