About Me

Let me introduce you to Sarah, creator of A Healthy Villa

 

I’m Sarah Villavicencio, a nationally board-certified health and wellness coach, and like so many of the women I work with, I wear a lot of hats. I’m a wife, a mom to a spirited toddler, a bonus mom to a busy grade-schooler, and a proud dog mom to Carlos, our lovable boxer. For more than a decade, I’ve thrived in the fast-paced world of corporate tech marketing but have also felt called to use my 20 years of health and wellness experience to help others.


My journey hasn’t been picture-perfect—it’s been real, messy, and full of lessons I now bring into my coaching. I grew up struggling with my weight and didn’t have the tools to build a healthy lifestyle. In my teens, I lost 50 pounds, but I did it the wrong way—with over-exercising and undereating. What looked like “discipline” was actually a cycle of extremes that carried into my twenties.


Everything shifted when I hired a coach who helped me reframe my relationship with food and movement. Through weightlifting, I built strength, healed my relationship with my body, and finally broke free from disordered eating—something I’ve been free from for over a decade. That experience lit a fire in me: I wanted to help other women feel this same freedom.

Along the way, I earned my bachelors degree in psychology, which deepened my understanding of behavior, motivation, and mindset—the real drivers of lasting change, and I also became a Nationally Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), a national credential that ensures I meet the highest standards in coaching. What does that mean for you? It means I use evidence-based methods, uphold a professional code of ethics, and am trained to help you bridge the gap between wanting change and actually living it.


Because I know firsthand that wellness isn’t about perfection—it’s about building sustainable habits that work in the context of your real life. In 2019, after battling stress and gut health challenges, I leaned even deeper into holistic health and learned that true wellness is about more than the scale or the gym. It’s about energy, confidence, and being able to show up as your best self in every area of life.


Today, I help busy professional women—women who are balancing careers, families, and endless to-do lists—find practical, sustainable ways to feel healthier, stronger, and more confident. My mission is to help you stop dieting, stop “starting over,” and finally find a rhythm that supports your health without sacrificing everything else you care about.
